Fr. Jake is experiencing his first assignment as a priest at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton. He was ordained a priest of Jesus Christ on June 3, 2023.
Fr. Jake is a native of Fort Wayne and grew up on the northern side of the city. He belonged to St. Charles Borromeo parish and received all his sacraments growing up there, while attending their school. Then, he attended Bishop Dwenger High School and graduated in 2013. He is the oldest of three. His younger sister and brother still live in the Fort Wayne area. He attributes his dedication and cultivation of his faith to his parents, Andy and Tina.
He made the decision after high school to attend the University of Toledo. Go Rockets!! He studied Exercise Science in hopes of attaining his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree, he chose to enter the seminary. After years of prayer and discernment, he felt the Lord was calling him to something more, perhaps to become his priest. While in seminary, he discovered his love for the Scriptures and meditating on the Word of God. Through his studies, he found his favorite theologian, St. Augustine. Although St. Augustine is his favorite theologian, St. Peter is his favorite saint and close companion this side of heaven. Fr. Jake enjoys playing soccer, which he began at age 5. He also enjoys the lake life. His grandparents had a lake cottage in Michigan, so he grew up around the water and learned how to ski. Fr. Jake is an avid water slalom skier and loves any chance to get out on the water.
Fr. Jake is fully dedicated to serving this parish and those souls within the parish boundaries as a priest of Jesus Christ. He takes to heart the words spoken by Christ to St. Peter, “Feed my Sheep.”
Please keep him in your prayers, as he prays for whoever might come across his bio.
